WHAT
IS CECABLE:
CECABLE
is a study center, investigation, search, information and diffusion of the cable
and its services. The utility is clear, given the development of the cable in
Catalonia and Spain and the inminent or incipient installation of cable nets in
diverse Catalan towns.
The
technological revolution of the XXI century in Europe requires a center of
continuous analysis and in perspective of a phenomenon that has the need of
study from the humanistic slope and technique.
CECABLE OBJECTIVE AND ADDRESSEE:
The
mean objective of CECABLE is the research and investigation about cable from a
various items perspectives. To this goal we elaborate studies, brochures and
others documentations.
Such
as in the USA, where foundations and public and private institutions finance
centers of this kind, here we have to count on finance funds of private offices
and public administration.
The
principal addressee of the project of the cable development are the companies
that are involved on it and the public administration in which all the
population will take advantage of as a consumer or receiver of all audiovisual
and telecommunications services that comes from the implementation of this new
technology.
HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF CECABLE:
In
October 2nd, 1995 it takes place in Terrassa (Barcelona) the Centro
de Estudios sobre el Cable (Cable Study Center), a private no profit entity that
offers a public service for users and companies.
As
the first center with this characterists in Catalonia, Spain and Europe, CECABLE
has received the Catalan Record that evaluates the pioneer condition and the
entity goal. Since its institution it has been constituted the CECABLE achieve,
opened to the public and officially inaugurated in January 31st,
1997.
CECABLE
has elaborated various studies, articles, publications and has developed a lot
of projects, such as the Proyecto Terrassa-Cable 2001, numerous courses and
conferences cycles besides participating strongly in Meetings of the Multimedia
Industy of the Universidat Politécnica de Catalunya.
